Add Defect List Items to a Drawing (iOS)

Objective

To add defect list items to a drawing in the Drawings tool on an iOS mobile device.

Things to Consider

• Required User Permissions:
  • To add defect list items to a drawing: 
    • 'Read Only' permission or higher level permissions on the project's Drawings tool.
      AND
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Defect List tool.
      Note: While 'Standard' level users can create defect list items, they cannot assign a defect item unless they have been granted special permission to act as the Defect Item Manager. 
  • To publish defect list item markups on a drawing:
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Drawings tool. See What is the difference between personal and published drawing markups?

Steps

1. Open the Procore app on your iOS mobile device.
2. Tap the project's Drawings tool.
3. Tap the drawing you want to add a defect list item to.
4. Tap the Pin  icon in the markup toolbar.
5. Tap the Defect  icon.
6. Place a defect item pin on the drawing by tapping the area where you want the item to appear.
7. After the defect item has been placed, choose from the following options: 
   • To link an existing item:
     1. Tap Link Existing to select an existing defect to add.
     2. Select the item to add it to the pin.
   • To create a new defect item:
     1. Select a template or tap + Create Defect Without a Template.
     2. Enter any relevant information needed. See Create a Defect List Item (iOS)
     3. Tap Save.
8. The defect pin displays the number assigned to the defect list item.
   Note: Grey defect pin icons denote a closed defect list item. Orange defect pin items denote an open defect item.
9. If you have 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions to the Drawings tool and want to publish the defect markup:
   1. Tap the Select markup tool.
   2. Tap the defect pin and tap Publish.
      Note: If you want Procore to automatically publish any new defect list items you add to drawings in this project, set 'Auto-Publish Defect Pins' to ON.
