Settings: Models (iOS)

Objective 

To manage settings for the Models tool on the Procore iOS app.

Background

The Models tool on the Procore iOS app offers additional settings that allow you to set your preferences for viewing and interacting with models.

Things to Consider 

Steps 

  1. Navigate to the Models tool using an iOS device.
  2. Tap a model to open the viewer.
    Note: If the model is not currently downloaded to your device, tap 'Download'.
  3. Tap Settings icon-models-settings.png to open the Settings menu.
  4. The following settings are available:
    Note: Settings are controlled by tapping the toggle to the ON icon-toggle-on-ios.png  or OFF icon-toggle-off-ios.png position. 
    • Movement Controls:
      • 2D Drawing: A thumbnail of the associated 2D drawing is displayed in the corner of the model with a marker to show the location and direction you are viewing from.
        • Tap the toggle ON or OFF to show or hide the drawing thumbnail.
      • Joysticks: There are three joystick controls that you can interact with as you navigate around the model.
        • Tap the toggle ON or OFF to show or hide the controls.
        • If you turn off the joysticks, you will move around the model by dragging up and down, side to side or in and out.
      • Look Up/Down: Tap Normal or Inverted depending on your viewing preference. 
    • Measurement:
      • Units: Tap to select the unit of measurement that you want displayed when measuring distances on a model. See Measure Distances on a Model (iOS).
        • ft' in": Feet and inches.
        • m: Metres.
        • mm: Millimetres.
    • Gridlines:
      Note: This setting is only visible to users with 'Admin' level permissions to the Models tool. In addition, gridlines can only be viewed on models that have had grids exported from the Procore plugin in Revit®. Models with exported grids have a grid  icon-models-grids.png  icon on them when opening the Models tool. 
      • Tap the toggle ON or OFF to show or hide gridlines for the model. 
    • Show Collaborators:
      Note: "Collaborators" are other users in the project who are currently viewing the same model. When this setting is turned on, you can see active collaborators' current locations while you are viewing the model. 
      • Model: Tap the toggle ON or OFF to show or hide collaborators on the model. 
      • 2D Drawing: Tap the toggle ON or OFF to show or hide collaborators on the 2D drawing of the model.
  5. The changes are automatically applied.
