Objective

To provide Procore users with information about head contract progress claim in Procore. 

Background

The Progress Claim Management solution features the Project level Invoicing tool. This tool handles two types of progress claims: subcontractor progress claims and head contract progress claim. Head contract progress claim originate in the project's Head Contracts tool. Before you can create an owner progress claim, your project team must create a head contract for the project, establish a billing period and decide who has permissions to generate a progress claim.

 Tip
An Owner Progress Claim is an application for payment, typically submitted by a Head Contractor (HC) or Construction Manager (CM) to an Owner to provide an itemized record of the amount due for work performed. In Procore, an owner progress claim is equivalent to an accounts receivable progress claim.

Establish a billing period Create a billing period and place it in the Open status. A billing period defines the start, end, and due date for submitting a progress claim. Manage Billing Periods
Create a head contract Owner progress claims originate from a head contract. You can create multiple head contracts in a Procore project. See Are there any system limitations when projects have multiple head contracts? A head contract must be in the 'Approved' status before you can create a progress claim.  Create Head Contracts
