Assign Default Project Permissions Templates in the Permissions Tool
Objective
To assign default project permissions templates in the company's Permissions tool.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Admin' level permissions on the company's Permissions tool.
- Additional Information:
- Only global permissions templates can be assigned to a user as their default project permissions template.
- Users with the appropriate permissions on the Company level Directory tool can assign a default project permissions template to a user when creating or editing the user's Directory record. See Add a User Account to the Company Directory and Edit a User Account in the Company Directory.
- Users with the appropriate permissions on the Company level Directory or Project level Directory tools can change a user's project permissions template on a specific project when adding the user to a project or editing the user's Directory records. See Add a User Account to the Project Directory, Edit a User Account in the Company Directory, and Edit a User Account in the Project Directory.

Steps
- Assign a Default Project Permissions Template to One User. Follow these steps if you only want to assign a default project permissions template to one user at a time.
- Assign a Default Project Permissions Template to One or More Users. Follow these steps if you want to assign the same default project permissions template to one or more users at the same time.
Assign a Default Project Permissions Template to One User
- Navigate to the company's Permissions tool.
- Click the User Permissions tab.
- Click Actions next to the user you want to assign a default project permissions template to.
- Click Assign Default Project Permissions.
- On the 'Assign Default Project Permissions' page, click Assign next to the global permissions template you want to assign to the user by default.
- In the 'Are you sure you want to assign this template?' window, click Confirm.
A green banner displays to confirm the user was assigned to the template successfully, along with the name of their new default project permissions template.
The user you selected will be assigned this project permissions template by default whenever they are added to a project.
Assign a Default Project Permissions Template to One or More Users
- Navigate to the company's Permissions tool.
- Click the User Permissions tab.
- Mark the checkbox next to one or more users you want to assign the same default project permissions template to.
- Click Bulk Actions and click Assign Default Project Permissions.
- On the 'Assign Default Project Permissions' page, click Assign next to the global permissions template you want to assign to the users by default.
- In the 'Are you sure you want to assign this template?' window, click Confirm.
Tip
Click the X next to a user's name if you want to remove them from the list of users being assigned to the selected company permissions template.
The users you selected will be assigned this project permissions template by default whenever they are added to a project.
