Delete Project Cost Codes
Objective
To delete project codes using the project's Admin tool.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Admin' on the project's Admin tool.
OR - 'Read Only' or 'Standard' permissions on the project's Admin tool with the 'Manage Cost Codes' granular permission enabled on your permission template.
- 'Admin' on the project's Admin tool.
- Prerequisites:
Before you edit or delete your project's cost codes, review Procore's default list of cost codes. See What are Procore's default cost codes?- If you want to import a custom cost code list for use with Procore, see Import Cost Codes to Procore.
- If you would only like to edit or delete a few cost codes or divisions, see the Steps below.
- For companies using the
ERP Integrations tool: Show/Hide
- Sage 300 CRE®. To delete a Project Cost Code, follow the steps in Delete Project Cost Codes from a Procore + Sage 300 CRE Project instead of the Steps below.
- For the ERP integrations listed below, you are not permitted to delete a Project Cost Code in Procore:
- QuickBooks® Desktop
- Sage 100 Contractor®
- Integration by Procore
- Viewpoint® Vista™
Steps
- Navigate to the Project level Admin tool.
- Under 'Project Settings', click Cost Codes.
- Choose from these options:
- To delete all of the project cost codes, highlight the top-level folder (the folder labelled with the project name) and all of its contents.
- To delete a division and all of the cost codes contained in it, expand the folder structure and then highlight the desired Division folder.
- To delete one or more cost codes, expand the folder structure to show your cost codes. Then highlight the cost code to delete. You can hold down the SHIFT key to highlight multiple codes.
- Click Delete.
- At the 'Are you sure you want to delete these codes' dialogue box, click OK to confirm the delete action.
