Below are notable changes to the project's Photos tool in 2019.
New Granular Permissions Added for the Photos Tool (12/11/2019)
Procore has added four new granular permissions for the Photos tool that can be applied to permission templates in the Company level Directory tool. See Grant Granular Permissions in a Permission Template: Photos.
Note: Some actions for the Photos tool are not available on the Procore iOS and Android apps and the new granular permissions are currently only respected in the Procore Web app.
Additional Categories for 'Smart Search' in the Photos Tool (01/10/2019)
Procore has added 12 new categories to use for searching photos in the Photos tool: electrical, nighttime, ppe or personal protective equipment, fencing, retail, earthwork, facade, overhead, ffe or furniture fixtures equipment, bathroom, heavy machinery and rebar. Since photos need to be scanned for these specific categories, this change will only apply to photos uploaded after this release. Existing categories are aerial, piping, paper, and framing. 'Smart Search' Feature for Photos (15/7/2019)
Procore has released a 'Smart Search' feature for the Photos tool that allows users to search for types of photos using the following terms: aerial, piping, paper, and framing. When photos are uploaded, Procore intelligently scans the photos for those categories and labels them as appropriate. Any photos that were auto-labelled by Procore will appear in search results when using those search terms. See Search for and Filter Photos.
