Objective

Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- To copy one or more codes on your company's Standard Cost Codes List to the Project Cost Codes list:
- 'Admin' on the project's Admin tool.
OR - 'Read Only' or 'Standard' level permissions on the project's Admin tool with the 'Manage Cost Codes' granular permission enabled on your permission template.
- 'Admin' on the project's Admin tool.
- To copy one or more codes on your company's Standard Cost Codes List to the Project Cost Codes list:
- For companies using the ERP Integrations tool:
- Do NOT use the steps below. Depending on your specific integration, your cost code data might be synced with an integrated ERP system. See Configure Cost Code Preferences for ERP Integrations to learn more.
Prerequisites
- If you decide that you would like to import a whole new list, see Import Cost Codes to Procore, which will give you steps to bulk import a new set of cost codes and divisions.
- If you would only like to edit or delete a few cost codes or divisions, see the steps below.
- Before you edit your project's cost codes, review Procore's default Standard Cost Cost list. What are Procore's default cost codes?
Steps
- Navigate to the project's Admin tool.
- Under 'Project Settings', click Cost Codes.
This opens the Cost Codes page. On the left side of the page is your company's Standard Cost Code List. On the right side of the page are your project cost codes.
Note: In our example, notice how the 18 Lighting division exists on the Standard Cost Code List, but has not yet been added to the Project Cost Codes list.
- Choose from these options:
- Copy All Codes
If you would like to copy all of the divisions and codes from your company's Standard Cost Code List to your project, click Copy All Codes. This moves all of the divisions and codes to the Project Cost Codes list.
OR - Copy Selected Codes
If you would like to copy only codes that you select, expand the division folder(s) as needed. Next, highlight the desired code in the Standard Cost Code List. Then click Copy Selected Codes.
Note: In our example below, we want to copy only the 40 Transformers code to the Project Cost Codes list.
Depending on the option you selected, the system either adds all the codes or the selected codes to the Project Cost Codes list.
Note: In the example below, note how the divisions (i.e., 18 Lighting and 050 Outdoor) which contain the selected 40 Transformers code are also copied to the project list. However, 45 Sconces is not copied over (i.e., because it was not selected before clicking Copy Selected Codes).
