Add or Manage Comments on a Coordination Issue

Objective

To add or manage comments and snapshots on a coordination issue.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the project's Co-ordination Issues tool.
      Note: Users can only edit or delete their own comments.
  • Additional Information:
    • You can mention other users in the project to send them an email notification of your comment using the @ symbol. See Mention Users in a Co-ordination Issue Comment.
    • If you added a snapshot to a comment in the Procore plugin, clicking the snapshot will navigate you around the model.
    • When adding a comment using the Coordination Issues tool, you can paste an image that was copied to your clipboard from a screen capture tool directly into the comment text box.
    • Comments are not carried over in the .nwd file for Navisworks Freedom users.

Steps

From the Procore Plugin

  1. Open Navisworks® and your model on your computer. See Getting Started Using the Procore Plugin.
  2. With the Procore tab selected, click Issues List.
  3. Click the issue you want to add or manage comments for.
  4. Click Activity to open the Activity window.
    OR
    Click Info on the issue, then click the Activity tab. 
  5. See steps for the available actions below:

add a comment

  1. Enter your comment into the text box.
    Note: You can mention other users in the project to send them an email notification of your comment using the @ symbol. See Mention Users in a Co-ordination Issue Comment.
  2. Optional: Click Add Snapshot to add a snapshot of the current view to your comment.
  3. Click Submit.

edit a comment

  1. Click Edit on the comment you want to edit.
  2. Optional: Click Remove if you want to remove a snapshot that you previously added.
    OR
    Click Add Snapshot to add a snapshot.
  3. Click Update.

delete a comment

Important! Deleted comments cannot be restored.

  1. Click Delete on the comment you want to delete.
    Note: The comment is immediately deleted.

From the Co-Ordination Issues Tool ​​​​​​

  1. Navigate to the project level Co-ordination Issues tool on app.procore.com.
  2. Click on the co-ordination issue you want to view activity for.
    OR
    If comments have been added to the co-ordination issue, click the Comment  icon-activity.png  icon.
    A side panel will open to display info for the co-ordination issue you selected.
  3. Click Activity.
    Note: If comments are available and you clicked on the Comment  icon-activity.png  icon, the Activity feed will open automatically.
  4. See steps for the available actions below:

add a comment

  1. Enter your comment into the text box.

  2. Optional: Click Attach Image to select an image file to add to your comment.
    Note: Accepted file types include .png, .jpeg, .gif, and .bmp. 
  3. Click Submit.

edit a comment

  1. Click the vertical ellipsis  icon-ellipsis-options-menu.png  icon on the comment you want to edit.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Enter any edits to your comment.
    Optional: Click Remove if you want to remove an image you previously added.
    OR
    Click Attach Image(s) to add an image file to your comment.
    Note: Accepted file types include .png, .jpeg, .gif, and .bmp. 
  4. Click Update.

delete a comment

Important! Deleted comments cannot be restored.

  1. Click the vertical ellipsis  icon-ellipsis-options-menu.png  icon on the comment you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. In the 'Confirm Deletion' window, click Delete.
