Subscribe to the Drawings Register

Objective

To subscribe yourself and others to the drawings in the project's Drawings register.

Background

You may want to subscribe yourself or other users to the project's drawings register if these users would benefit from receiving update emails when new revisions are added to the project's Drawings tool. Emails will be sent out to notify you of the following items when an Admin publishes and distributes new drawings:

  • New drawing sets
  • New drawing revisions
  • New drawing sketches

Admin users will have the option to publish new drawings or revisions or publish and distribute, which will send an email immediately to all subscribers. Emails will be sent out automatically once an hour if new sketches are added in that hour. You will not get an email if no items were added to the drawings tool.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Admin' permissions to add people to the subscription list. 
    • 'Read Only' or above permissions to subscribe to the Drawings register.

Steps

Subscribe yourself

  1. Navigate to your project's Drawings tool.
  2. Mark the checkbox next to subscribe at the top of the Drawings list.

Subscribe your team

  1. Navigate to your project's Drawings tool.
  2. Click the Configure Settings icons-settings-gear.png icon.
  3. In the Drawing Register Settings page under "General Settings", click the drop-down menu under Drawing Register Subscribers. 
  4. Add users who should be subscribed to your Drawings page. 
    Note: If you add a group to the drawing register subscribers, any additions or subtractions to the group will not be reflected in this list. For example, if you add a person to an "Internal" group in the Directory, that person will not be added to the drawing register subscribers to reflect the group change.
  5. Click Update at the bottom of the page to save your settings.
