Add Defect List Items to a Drawing (Android)

Objective

To add a defect list item to a drawing in the Drawings tool using the Procore app on an Android mobile device.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • To add defect list items to a drawing: 
      • 'Read Only' permission or higher on the project's Drawings tool.
        AND
      • 'Standard' or 'Admin' on the project's Defect List tool.
        Note: While 'Standard' level users can create defect list items, they cannot assign a defect item unless they have been granted special permission to act as the Defect Item Manager. 
    • To publish defect list item markups on a drawing:
  • This asset/item can be viewed or edited in offline mode provided that the asset/item was previously viewed and cached on your mobile device.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Drawings tool using the Procore app on an Android mobile device.
  2. Search and filter for the drawing to which you would like to add a defect list item.
  3. Tap the drawing.
  4. Tap the defect pin markup tool in the markup toolbar.
  5. Tap the area of the drawing that you would like the defect list item to reference.
  6. After the pin has been dropped, you will be prompted to either add an existing defect list item or you can add a new defect list item.

    • Add a new defect list item:
      1. Click the + in the bottom right of the Defect List box. 
      2. See Create a Defect List Item (Android).
    • Add an existing defect list  item:
      1. Filter the defect list register by location.
      2. Tap the defect list item you would like to add.
  7. You will briefly see "New PL" in the pin tag, this means your new pin is syncing with Procore.
    Note: Gray defect pin icons denote a closed defect list item. Red defect pin items denote an open defect list item.
  8. Once the defect list item is complete, the tag will display the number of the item (e.g. "PL1500").
