Configure Advanced Settings: Variations

Objective

To configure the advanced settings for your project's Variations tool.

Background

The configuration settings for the project's Variations tool gives you the ability customise variation reasons, variation types and variation statuses.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Variations tool

Steps

You can perform the following configuration tasks:

Configure Variation Settings

  1. Navigate to the project's Variations tool.
  2. Click the Configure Settings icons-settings-gear.png icon.
  3. Under Variation Settings, do the following:

    • Show Line Items on Head Contract Variation PDFs
      • To show line items on HCVs exported PDFs, mark this checkbox. 
      • To hide line items from HCVs exported PDFs, remove the mark from this checkbox. 
    • Show Line Items on Commitment Variation PDFs
      • To show line items on an exported PDF for a CV, mark this check box. 
      • To hide line items from an exported PDF for a CV, remove the mark from this check box. 
    • Change Reason Behaviour 
      To modify the change reason behaviour always contact your Procore point of contact first. You have these options:
  4. Click Update.

Set User Permissions for the Variations Tool

  • If you have a small number of users, you might choose to manage user permissions for the project's Variations tool using the steps below.
  • If you have a large number of users, it is recommended that you manage user permissions on Procore's project tools using permission templates. For instructions, see Manage Project Permissions Templates.
  1. Navigate to the project's Variations tool.
  2. Click the Configure Settings icons-settings-gear.png icon.
  3. Click Permissions Table.
  4. Set each user's permission for the tool according to your preferences.

  5. When finished, click Back.
