Procore

2021

Below are the notable changes to the project's Models tool in 2021.

View Object Properties on the web viewer (30/11/2021)

Procore has added the ability to view properties for an object while using the web viewer of the Models tool. You can open the Properties window for an object by clicking the Properties icon in the Models toolbar, right-clicking on an object and selecting Properties or by using ALT+P or OPTION+P on your keyboard. See View a Model.

Additional 'Hide Similar' and 'Isolate' Options Now Available for the Web Viewer (14/10/2021)

Similar to existing functionality on the model viewer on the Procore iOS app, there is now a 'Hide Similar' option when you right-click on any object in the web viewer. In addition, you can now click 'Isolate' in the web viewer to isolate selected objects. See View a Model.

Create Custom Reports For The Models Tool (06/10/2021)

Custom reports for the Models tool can now be created in the Company and Project level Reports tools. These reports will provide a comprehensive list of models that have been published, helping to ensure effective model management and tracking for BIM managers and project stakeholders. See Create a Custom Project Report or Create a Custom Company Report.

Search For and Filter Co-ordination Issues in the Web Viewer of the Models tool (20/09/2021)

Procore has added the ability for users to search for and filter co-ordination issues in the side panel of the Models tool web viewer. This release allows for more efficient design reviews and ensures that project users have easy access to co-ordination issues while viewing a model in Procore's web application. See Search for and Filter Co-ordination Issues in the Model Viewer.

2D Views Feature Now Available on iPhones (23/08/2021)

The 2D Views feature that was previously only available for iPads is now available for iPhones. All functionality is the same, with the exception of the Tape Measure feature only being available on iPads. See View Models (iOS).

ENHANCEMENTS TO THE 2D DYNAMIC VIEWS FEATURE FOR MODELS (16/08/2021)

The 2D Dynamic Views feature for the Models tool has been updated with enhanced functionality for the Tape Measure tool, as well as support for blockouts. This release includes the ability to adjust and edit measurements after they have been created and introduces a magnifying glass to see the precise area you are measuring over. In addition, dynamic measurements now respect blockouts, which can be selected just like model objects. See View Models (iOS).

Cloud Processing for Publishing Models (16/07/2021)

Instead of needing to let model files process in Navisworks® on your computer when publishing a model to Procore, model files will now process on Procore's cloud servers. This means you will no longer need to keep Navisworks open while you wait for your files to finish processing. You can view the status of the file processing in a new Uploads tab in the plugin. See Publish a Model to Procore.

Show or Hide Objects on a Model in the Web Viewer (25/05/2021)

Similar to the functionality of the mobile viewer for the Models tool, Procore has added an 'Objects' feature to the web viewer. This feature allows you to view a file tree of objects from the model file so that you can show or hide specific elements while viewing the model. See View a Model.

Dynamic 2D Views Now Available for the Models Tool on iPads (07/05/2021)

Procore has released a new feature, Dynamic 2D Views, for the Models tool on the Procore app for iPads. See Getting Started Guide for Dynamic 2D Views in the Models Tool. This feature allows site teams to see specific dimensions of objects on a coordinated model with a tap of the screen. Users can quickly zoom in and out to see the centreline or outside dimensions of any objects within the model. See View Models (iOS) and Why aren't my grids aligned in the Models tool?

Being able to examine the dimensions further also helps teams ensure that everything will be installed exactly according to the plan. You can also use the new 'Tape Measure' feature to make additional measurements. See Measure Distances on a Model (iOS). With the Dynamic 2D Views feature allowing you to create elevation drawings directly from the model, you won't need to recreate lift drawings in a different authoring solution.

View Co-ordination Issues in the Web Viewer of the Models Tool (19/04/2021)

The Models tool viewer in the Procore web application has been updated to allow you to view co-ordination issues associated with a model. This provides an easier and more efficient way for all users to view co-ordination issues. See View Co-ordination Issues.
