Getting Started with Editing Functions
Background
Welcome to customizing your Training Center! You have been granted edit access and are ready to start filling out your company-specific information. Here’s what you need to know about the Editing toolbar and its functions.
Editing Toolbar
Page controls
- Save saves the page.
- Cancel exits out of the editor and abandons any changes you have made.
- Undo Undo your last action.
- Redo Redo your last action.
Text styling
- Headings - Select a heading level to apply to the text.
- Bold Bold selected text.
- Italic Italicize selected text.
- Underline Underline selected text.
- Text Color Change the text color for the text that you've selected.
- Background Color Highlights selected text or change the color of the background of tables.
- Remove Format Remove all of the formatting from the selected content.
Format and elements
- Insert/Remove Numbered List Add or remove a numbered list to your page.
- Insert/Remove Bulleted List Add or remove a bulleted list to your page.
- Alignment
- Align Left: The selected content is aligned with the left side of the article/column (most used).
- Center: The selected content is aligned in the center of your article/column.
- Align Right: The selected content is aligned to the right of your article/column.
- Justify: The selected content is aligned to the left and will extend to the right of the article/column. Your words will not wrap.
- Increase/Decrease Indentation Increase or decrease the indent of selected content.
- Link Insert a link into the page. For more information about inserting a link, see Create a Link.
- Image Insert an image within the page. For more information about inserting an image, see Insert an Image.
- Table Embed tables by clicking on the Table icon and selecting the number of rows and columns you want. For more information about inserting a table, see Create a Table.
Utilities
- Find and Replace Find a word or phrase on the page. You can also choose to replace matches of that word with another word(s).
- Source View Switch to HTML for further formatting. Only recommended for those familiar and is not typically necessary.
Editing Functions
Training Center Help
- The area to find all training materials and frequently asked questions relating to implementing a Training Center.
Edit
- Opens the Edit Live window. For more information, see Edit a Page.
New
- Opens the Add a New Page window. For more information, see Create a New Page.
Options
Click to access the page management drop-down.
- Revision History Shows a history of previous edits and page versions.
- Restrict Access Shows a list of who has permission to view or edit this page.
- Move Opens the Move Page window to organize your site map. For more information, see Move a Page.
- Copy Opens the Copy Page window to copy an existing page. For more information, see Copy a Page.
- Delete Opens the Delete Page window to remove a page from your Training Center. For more information, see Delete a Page.
User Menu
- Click to access My subscriptions or Sign out. For more information about My Subscriptions and page notifications, see Subscribe to Page Notifications.
